MAP testing will begin on Wednesday, April 23rd and wrap up Friday, May 2nd. Teachers and students participated in an assembly this past Thursday. UES students were encouraged to "WORK" hard and "Rock the MAP". Check out our fun!

Warrior Pow Wow
You are invited to attend the first-ever community engagement series, Warrior Pow Wow.
The one-hour event will provide attendees an opportunity to hear about the strategic planning process and Common Core. Presentations will be given by Dr. Todd Schuetz and Dr. Michelle Kratofil.
Hey UES Students, join us for a movie in the gym on Friday, May 2, from 3:30-5:30pm. Admission is $7 ($5 for each additional sibling) and includes the movie, a drink and popcorn. Candy will be available for purchase. Look for a flyer coming home for details. Hope to see you all there!
Tribe Pride is hosting an Open Gym for all third, fourth and fifth grade students on Tuesday, May 13, from 3:30-5:30pm. Cost is $7 ($5 for each additional sibling). Come shoot some hoops, jump rope, play four square, dodgeball and more. Drink and snack provided. Space limited to the first 120 permissions slips received.
Incoming 6th Grade Parent Night
2014-2015 Incoming 6th Grade Parent Night will be in the Middle School Gymnasium. For further information contact the Middle School at 532-1122.
Summer Journey 2014
Once again, our school district will offer all students, free of charge, an exciting Summer School program. Our summer program will be fun for kids. Yet, our summer school program also provides an opportunity for students to experience over 60 hours of advanced academic preparation for the year ahead as well as to review and apply previously learned skills and knowledge. The Smithville School District Summer School Program goals are comprised of academic courses with hands-on instruction centered in reading, language arts, math, social studies and science.
Summer Journey 2014 starts June 2 and ends July 3. Grades K - 3 will be at the Primary Elementary School from 8:00-3:30 and grades 4 - 9 will be at the Middle School from 7:50-3:20.
SHS Basketball Camp
SHS basketball camp for incoming grades 3-5 will be held at SHS on , 3rd, 4th from and incoming grades 6-8 on , 3rd, 4th from . Please contact Pam Weis at firstname.lastname@example.org to register or pick up a registration form from the magazine rack by the front doors.
Camp Invention 2014: Morphed!
In partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Smithville School District is pleased to offer the nationally-acclaimed Camp Invention program to children entering grades one through six at the Upper Elementary from 7/28-8/1 from 9:00 - 3:30pm. It’s an exciting, weeklong summer adventure in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) that’s all about big ideas. Children will work together to seek innovative solutions to real-world problems and sharpen critical 21st century learning skills as they rotate through four modules that reinvent summer fun.
